This Tuesday, the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council launched a seminar on 'leadership, mediation and conflict resolution' for municipal employees in different administrative areas.
The course is taught by the psychologist and famous executive coach Pascual Benet, a specialist in human behavior, agreement management and psychosocial skills in the private and public sectors. His curriculum includes master's degrees in Human Resources, neurolinguistic programming, clinical and health psychology, child and adolescent psychology and even in Eriksonian hypnosis.
The organization of the seminar is the responsibility of the Department of Occupational Risks headed by the second deputy mayor, Elena Álamo Vega, and is intended to provide municipal employees with the necessary tools and techniques to face possible leadership situations with guarantees of success. mediation and resolution of conflicts that may arise in the performance of their work.
The objective of the Department is for the heads of the different areas, services and sections of the City Council to take the course. For this reason, it has been established that the seminar will take place for two days, in person, from 8.30:13.30 a.m. to XNUMX:XNUMX p.m. at the Maspalomas Cultural Center.
The training program offered by this coach, with recognition awards from several Spanish Local Police forces, is based on motivation, helping those attending his talks optimize their personal and social skills, and reinforce their interest in achieving their goals. and personal and professional goals.
Management of roles and emotions
Specifically, for the seminar requested by the City Council, Benet has designed a thematic program in which it will address the alignment of people with their mission, vision and values; non-violent communication techniques used in mediation; the main tools that must be used in resolving conflicts between colleagues; emotional intelligence and emotion management; the management of the different roles that coexist in teams and work groups and the impediments that must be faced in order to play the role of mediators between co-workers and in the event of a conflict.
Councilor Elena Álamo maintains that this seminar “will contribute to improving the labor relations of municipal employees and also the quality of public service provided to residents. Our intention is to implement a continuous training program that revalues the quality of the City Council's staff."
