Maspaterror impresses its 2.000 participants

Newsroom Tuesday, October 24, 2023

The assembly and development of the activity organized by the Youth Department in the Parque del Sur on the occasion of the Halloween party receives a very positive evaluation from the attendees

Nearly 2.000 people participated this last weekend in Maspaterror 2023, the first tent-show set up by the Youth Department of the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council on the occasion of the Halloween party.

The activity was organized in the Parque del Sur with an educational focus on responsible leisure, dedicated in this first edition to raising awareness among participants about the effects and repercussions of climate change.

Around fifty young people from El Tablero, Castillo del Romeral and San Fernando de Maspalomas were involved in the assembly and development of the show, who undertook the development of the sets, costumes and characterization of the characters.

The evaluation of the development of the activity and its organization has been highly positive. The participants have highlighted above all the security measures of the event; exhaustive compliance with the entry times to the tent, which was carried out in groups of 8 people every 15 minutes; the availability of obtaining entry through the Internet with closed hours to avoid crowds and that there were hardly any queues and, above all, that a psychologist would be placed at the doors of the tent at the direct service of users to inform them in a specific way. preventive about the content of the show.

The organization had previously warned that the activity was not recommended for people who had recently had surgery, epilepsy, pregnant people or people with other sensitive pathologies. And the loud pronunciation of the keyword 'Chigago' was also specified for those who needed to leave the tent due to any illness. And indeed there were about 30 desertions.

The fact is that the activity did not leave anyone indifferent. Laughter, nerves, tears, scares..., a whole flow of sensations that increased the adrenaline of the participants during the visual, sound and emotional tour through the five rooms into which the 250 meters of the tent were divided. The activity was very well received by young people over twelve years of age during the Saturday morning session, but especially by families and children under 12 years of age who attended accompanied during the Sunday morning session.

“When we initially planned the organization and celebration of this activity, we proposed that it should be inspiring, attractive and stimulating, but above all that its assembly would implicitly carry a didactic conception, a call to reflect on a specific human problem. We decided that this first edition would be dedicated to climate change. We think it is a resource that will allow us to approach the next editions from another prism and with different perspectives,” says the second deputy mayor Elena Álamo Vega.
