The intercity transport company thus distributes the 12,6 tons of food collected through the fourth edition of the solidarity initiative laguaguadelaspromesas, which promises to convert each of the promises registered on the website to the Virgin of Pino into a kilo of food. On this occasion, and thanks to the participation of other entities, Global has managed to multiply each of the messages received by ten kilos and exceed the 2.600 collection by 2022 kilos.

The general director of Salcai, Víctor Quintana, thanked the participation of the people who registered their promises, and especially that of the companies that with their contribution have managed to collect 12.600 kilos of food for Cáritas Diocesana de Canarias, the Red Cross and the Food Bank. of Las Palmas will distribute among the most vulnerable population.

He explained that 'La Guagua de Las Promesas' reaches its destination in this fourth edition, and that thanks to the complicity of thousands of people it has already become part of the tradition in the program of events and celebrations in honor of the Patron Saint of Gran Canaria, the Virgen del Pino. The person in charge of Cáritas' Housing area, Eugenia Rocha, thanked Global for an initiative that "promotes solidarity" and explained that the proceeds will go to the four soup kitchens managed by the entity on the Island, which provides breakfasts and lunches to a average of 300 homeless people every day.
