The organized route, from Fontanales to Montaña Alta de Guía, is known as 'Canarian Scotland'
The San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council is already organizing the second walk included in its sports program of hiking and activities in nature 'San Bartolomé Camina' for 2023, which will take place next Saturday, November 4. With this objective, the Sports Department headed by Mayor Ramón Suárez will open the registration process this Monday, November 30, starting at 8.00:XNUMX a.m. The walk will be from Fontanales to Montaña Alta de Guía.
The walk is 9 kilometers long and is of medium level. The physical requirement required is somewhat greater than that of the path chosen for this Saturday, since it offers a continuous initial climb of approximately three kilometers. The organization also informs hikers that some sections of the route may present a small problem for participants who suffer from vertigo. Still, despite that appreciation and the demanding initial climb, the views are spectacular. In fact, the walk will take place through the so-called “Scotland of Gran Canaria”, with extraordinary landscape potential.
In-person registrations can be made, as usual, from 8.00:14.00 a.m. to XNUMX:XNUMX p.m., at the Sports Department's public service points: at the Maspalomas Stadium, the El Tablero Municipal Sports Pavilion and at the Sports City. Vicente del Bosque de Castillo del Romeral. They can also be carried out electronically through the Sports section of the municipal website. www.maspalomas.com
To facilitate better access to the 50 places on offer, the Department of Sports has decided to reduce the number of registrations that a person can formalize at the same time, going from three to just one. Furthermore, to encourage greater participation by residents registered in this municipality, the decision to open the registration list for those not registered only from Thursday is maintained as long as there are free places. Therefore, in order to incorporate other users, the organization of this service asks participants to notify the organization of their cancellations (Tel.- 928.723.443) as far in advance as possible.
