The 50th edition of the Maspalomas Rally begins tonight at 20 p.m. with the show section of the same name in the tourist area of Meloneras, mainly on Avenida de Cristóbal Colón, where the 86 participating teams have a 1,5 km route planned. to give the greatest show possible and as a "warm-up" for the long day on Saturday, with eight more timed stages that will decide the final podium of this emblematic rally.
This afternoon there are also the technical verifications of the vehicles in Expomeloneras, headquarters of this "Maspa50", until shortly before starting the action in this first urban section. The final finish line of the race is on Saturday afternoon at 18:45 p.m., with the arrival ceremony in the Plaza del Faro in Maspalomas.
Among the participants are all the contenders for the CCRA regional title and a good part of the favorites in the BP Championship in Las Palmas, when there are only three regional and two provincial events left to finish the season.

WIDE GROUP OF FAVORITES
Number 1 on the list goes to the current champion of the Canary Islands, Enrique Cruz-Yeray Mujica's team with the Ford Fiesta Rally2 and the colors of Copi Sport. Another of the favorites and with number 2 are the runners-up and dominators of the first part of the season, Miguel Angel Suárez-Eduardo González with the Citroen C3 Rally2. Among them we cannot miss the current leaders of the CCRA, the Czechs Jan Cerny-Peter Cernohorsky with the Hyundai Canarias Motorsport i20-N Rally2, who rose to first place after the results of the last Rally Ciudad de Telde and who hold number 3.
Also not missing from the event is another of the Regional's regular followers, Manolo Mesa-Víctor Pérez (Suzuki Swift Rally S), with number 5 in the starting order. One place ahead will be the tenors of the BP Las Palmas Championship, Armide Martín-Judit Cabello with the Skoda Fabia Rally2, with the number 4 and defending the colors of Auto-Laca Competimiento.
Next on the official list is the Porsche 911 GT3 number 6 of Ayoze Benítez-Patricia González, who will not miss this important edition of "Maspa50" either. Second rally for Alberto Monzón-Aday Ortiz with his brand new Porsche 911, which corresponds to the number 7. And the expected return of Iván Armas with the BMW M3, co-driven by Ismael Guerra and with the number 8 in this reunion. Among all of them They form a very strong group in the fight for the places on the final podium of this emblematic edition, some with some victories already in their personal record with this rally.
Number 9 goes to the very fast Alexander Santana with María Puga with the Honda Civic Type-R, who in his few participations in rallies is always guaranteed a presence at Maspalomas.
Starting from number 10 come the drivers of the You Canarias-BP Ultimate-Plus Car Rally Cup, with the Corsa and Peugeot Rally4, led by the leaders Fernando Cruz-Tecorice Hernández. And then seven teams in total for this competitive promotional trophy. And shortly after, in the starting order we have the eight teams of the Clio Trophy Canarias, starting with number 22, which corresponds to the Canarian representatives in this same cup at the national level, Alejandro Martín, co-piloted this time by Juan Monzón.
Also not missing this edition are the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo teams such as Javier Ramírez-Minerva Llarena, the Antonio Afonso (father and son) with Jonay Miranda and Ruperto Ramos as their respective co-drivers, plus Antonio Estalella-Antonio Peña with the spectacular Toyota Yaris GR.
The test also includes the participants of the FALP Promotion Trophy, Junior-FCA, Volante FALP, Toyota-Enma Servicios-2RM, Clio Cardones Prodrive, Tire Motorsport Hankook and Pro-Auto.
