The winter season is arriving in the south of Gran Canaria and that is synonymous with flight deals for those who can have time to organize themselves, that is, civil servants and the occasional isolated self-employed person. But if you want to avoid Madrid and skip Christmas in Las Palmas capital, with its traffic chaos and craziness, to spend the official cold in Europe, Gran Canaria Airport has a total of 123 destinations operated by 55 companies.
Thus, to fly from Gran Canaria there are thousands of seats. Just like doing it to the south of the island from continental Europe. But when it comes to buying them it is a hassle because floating windows and tricks to increase the bill on low-cost airlines such as Ryanair or Vueling create an ordeal for the whole family. For that, you have to know specific dates and destinations and the Gran Canaria Tourist Board has launched a very convenient tool to schedule and you can access it by clicking here. If you are one of those who do not believe what you cannot touch, the route map and airline names are here.
The air reservation figures for this winter confirm that the Canarian tourism sector has not only recovered after the pandemic, but is already in a better situation than before covid. In fact, this winter the airlines expect a 24,1% increase in seats in the archipelago compared to 2019. In total, there are 29.248.479 airline seats scheduled for this cold season, which ranges from end of October 2023 until March 2024.
