An 18-year-old man in serious condition rescued from the water in Mogán

A man in cardiorespiratory arrest in Cala del Caracol

An 18-year-old male in serious condition after being recovered from cardiorespiratory arrest in Cala del Caracol, municipality of Mógan, was transferred in a medical ambulance to the Insular University Hospital of Gran Canaria.

 

At around 18:10 p.m., the Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Government of the Canary Islands received an alert reporting that there were several people in trouble at sea in the aforementioned area. 1-1-2 immediately activated the necessary emergency resources.

 

Members of the Civil Guard rescued the affected person from the water who was in cardiorespiratory arrest. The other beachgoers in distress got out on their own.

 

Upon arriving at the scene, the SUC personnel verified that the affected person was in cardiorespiratory arrest and after performing basic and advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers, they managed to recover him. Once stabilized, he was transferred to the aforementioned hospital.

 

Consortium firefighters and Civil Protection personnel collaborated in transferring the injured person from the scene of the incident to the ambulance.

 

The Local Police collaborated with the emergency services.
