'San Bartolomé de Tirajana Digital' a new digital strategy forum

Next Wednesday, November 8, the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council organizes the 'San Bartolomé de Tirajana Digital' forum, a free informative meeting where the strategy that will be developed from 2024 to 2026 to promote the digital economy in this municipality will be presented.

 

The meeting promoted by the Department of Local Development led by the second deputy mayor Elena Álamo Vega is designed to give a voice to professionals in the sector and disseminate the so-called 'Strategy to promote the local digital economy of San Bartolomé de Tirajana'.

 

The presentation will include the participation of business success stories that are contributing to the digital transformation of the municipality, such as the one developed by the computer company Yeray de Boso SL, and with presentations such as the one offered by the professor of Business and Digital Tourism and Director of User-Oriented Digitalization at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Jacques Bulchand, to guide attendees on the importance of business digitalization and the support programs and subsidies available for this digital reconversion.

The event is part of the Smart-Eco project included in the Interreg VA Madeira-Azores-Canary Islands (MAC) Territorial Cooperation Program 2014-2020, 85% financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). In addition to San Bartolomé de Tirajana, the municipalities of Adeje, Candelaria, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Madeira, Terceira Island and Pico Island (Azores), Praia (Santiago Island, Cape Verde), Dakar (Senegal) and Nouakchott (Mauritania).

 

The Smart-Eco project is one of the 67 projects approved in the second call of said program and has a total budget of 1.309.640,38 euros. The Program approved by the European Commission on June 3, 2015 aims to contribute to the development of the strategy for intelligent, sustainable and inclusive growth and the achievement of economic, social and territorial cohesion of the outermost regions of the Canary Islands, Madeira and Azores, and from the geographically closest African countries: Cape Verde, Senegal and Mauritania.
