It offers 18 agents a specialized course in complicated maneuvers such as spins, urgent exits, blind maneuvers, avoiding barricades, skidding and oversteering
The City Council of San Bartolomé de Tirajana continues to train its public employees and this Friday it offered an intensive training course in evasive and offensive driving to 18 agents of its Local Police.
The course, lasting six hours, has been organized by the Department of Security and Emergencies, directed by José Carlos Álamo Ojeda, and the Department of Occupational Risks of the Department of Human Resources led by the second deputy mayor, Elena Álamo Vega.
The training, of an eminently practical nature, has taken place on the Aeroclub sports racing circuit, in El Berriel, taught by four specialists from the Teamdrive School, specifically the Canarian rally champions Flavio Alonso, Gregorio Picar and Victor Delgado, and safe driving expert Carlos Sánchez.
The 18 agents participating in the course have been able to learn to perform numerous driving maneuvers for the safe performance of their work, which require special knowledge and behavior on the part of the drivers and the vehicles themselves to guarantee their maximum effectiveness.

In that sense, specialists have instructed agents in evasive maneuvers such as spinning forward (Californians) and backwards (smugglers) with and without accelerator; Y maneuvers; urgent exits from parking lots; blind and dodge driving and openings in barricades.
The course also included training on offensive driving maneuvers such as ejections from the road, forced slowdowns and lateral impacts, and on vehicle behavior in skidding and oversteering.
The training, quite extensive, addressed the security and protection of authorities; emergency braking; the different active safety systems; the postural position of feet, hands and trunk in the driving task; handling the steering wheel with erroneous, uncomfortable and dangerous techniques in extreme situations and the lack of prevention and anticipation in risk situations, among other aspects.
