The Treasury wants to know what it means that LGBT tourism in Playa del Inglés brings in 50.000 people, 10.000 a day who travel through its area of influence for five days, between 70 and 80 million euros and, for this reason, it has begun to send letters selectively so that they correct the latest manifestations and adapt their "inconsistencies" between their declared banking and financial income. The letters include specific information about the recipient and providers who self-bill for services. In fact, they are asked to contribute other budgets.
There are several fronts: on the one hand, knowing what is happening with the destination in the south of the business island and, on the other, the cross-checking of beverage purchase data or the provision of budgets that justify the selection of certain suppliers from the last five years. One of those "inconsistencies" is precisely why they would always have been selected. The surcharges of article 27 General Tax Law provide for a percentage equal to 1% plus another additional 1% for each full month of delay with which the self-assessment is submitted.
The 2022 Annual Tax and Customs Control Plan says that "regardless of the quantitative limits that are in force in accordance with the applicable regulations, cash operations will continue to be the subject of attention once again by the Tax Administration." ". In the letters sent to the hospitality sector, they are urged to make a complementary statement in view of the statements that companies in this sector highlight to justify the public aid they receive. These letters are also sent to associated companies, products from multiple sectors: from sound companies to public relations companies. The Treasury highlights the importance of the need to update data since "economic ratios of the sector are used" such as the turnover of LGBT business in other parts of the EU. "Based on these, the personal situation is analyzed and compared with the sector average."
