The general director of the National Institute of Aerospace Technology Esteban Terradas, Lieutenant General Julio Ayuso Miguel, has highlighted to the mayor of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Marco Aurelio Pérez, the cohesion of the community in the south of the island of Gran Canaria, the traditional cohesion of base. Some considerations in the presence of the Deputy Director General of Space Systems of the INTA, Ángel Moratilla Ramos, during the visit that both have made to the leading Canary Islands Space Center.
At the end of the visit, the Maspalomas Space Gardens were inaugurated, the result of the transformation of grass areas into sustainable gardens, with flora more appropriate to the environment, without irrigation, without plastics and with reused materials.
This project has been carried out by students and teachers of Basic and Intermediate Training Cycles, from the Agraria family, from the IES El Tablero and IES Faro de Maspalomas respectively, as well as by students from Adapted Agrarian Training from the IES Faro de Maspalomas. All this with the collaboration of both schools, the City Council of San Bartolomé de Tirajana and the Scientific Culture and Innovation Unit of INTA. The general director of INTA unveiled a plaque in gratitude and memory of this project.
