The proposal of the Department of Culture for this Saturday (20.00:XNUMX p.m.) is an ode to the lyrical symbolism of the poet Federico García Lorca. In the montage music, dance and theatrical performance merge

The Maspalomas Cultural Center hosts this Saturday, November 11, at 20.00:XNUMX p.m., the show 'Luna. Ode to Federico García Lorca', programmed by the Department of Culture directed by the second deputy mayor, Elena Álamo Vega, and coordinated by the councilor Esther Delgado. Admission is free until full capacity.

The show, in which music, dance and theatrical performance merge, is promoted by the flamenco company Rocío Pozo. It is an artistic project that delves into the popular collection of poems by the Granada poet Federico García Lorca (1898-1936), laying the foundations for its scenic assembly in the structural elements that make up the symbolic world of the 'Gypsy Romance' (death, night, the sky, the moon...) and more specifically in the lyricism of 'Romance de la luna, luna' that Federico dedicated to his sister María de la Concepción García Lorca (Conchita).

The staging of 'Luna' is also set with the interpretation of renowned themes by the Spanish composers Manuel de Falla (1876-1946) and Enrique Granados (1867-1916). The dancer Rocío Pozo herself, who also directs the show, the actor José Antonio González, and the musicians Marta Bolaños (singer), Oliver Curbelo (pianist) and Samuel Medina (percussionist) participate as performers in the performance. Adelardo Dorado is in charge of the production and lighting design.

The Rocío Pozo company will also star on Saturday, November 18, in the show 'If it hurts, it's not love', promoted by the Department of Equality within the program of events that the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council proposes to commemorate the International Elimination Day of Violence against Women (November 25). This show will also be offered at the Maspalomas Cultural Center, at 20.30:XNUMX p.m., with free entry until capacity is reached. These can be reserved at tureservaonline.es.
