The athlete Aitana Pérez Amaalem, from the local Ubuntu club, organizer of the contest, gets a place in the 71 kilo body weight for the Spanish Championships held in December in Gijón
The facilities of the Ubuntu Maspalomas Weightlifting Club, in the Municipal Stadium of Maspalomas, hosted last weekend the celebration of the Canary Islands U-17 Championship, valid for the next Spanish Championship of that same category.
In the championship, whose organization had the collaboration of the Sports Department of the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council, a total of 54 athletes of both sexes from the different Canarian weightlifting clubs participated.

The competition brought together athletes representing the Arucas Weightlifting School, the Tenerife Weightlifting School (CRH), the Teror Halteror Club, and the La Palma Sport Box Club; from the Pegasus Club of Arinaga, and from the event's organizing club, the Club Ubuntu Maspalomas.
This competition was a qualifier for the Spanish Under-17 Championship to be held in Gijón (Asturias) on the weekend of December 16 and 17. The lifter from Maspalomas Aitana Pérez Amaalem got a place to participate in it, in the 71st body weight category.
