Yesterday afternoon, the Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Government of the Canary Islands received an alert reporting that a knife fight was taking place between two men, supposedly brothers, in the Orquídea street, municipality of Agüimes.
A 52-year-old man who, at the initial time of assistance, had a moderate head injury, was transferred in a medical ambulance to the Insular University Hospital of Gran Canaria.
The second person involved, another 51-year-old man who, at the initial moment of assistance, presented a minor rib wound from a stab weapon, was transferred in a basic life support ambulance to the Doctor Negrín University Hospital.
1-1-2 immediately activated the necessary emergency resources. The SUC personnel assisted both injured people and transported them to the different hospital centers in the corresponding ambulances. The Civil Guard instructed the corresponding procedures and the Agüimes Local Police collaborated with the emergency services.
