The recognition of three artisans from the region and the performances of Yeray Rodríguez, Conciencia Urbana, Los Gofiones and Kilombo Improvisado put the finishing touch to the 20th edition of this showcase of local products
The Southeast Fair will return in November 2024 to the open commercial area of Santa Lucía de Tirajana
The 20th edition of the Southeast Fair has ended today until next year with a “resounding success” both with the public and financially. The mayor of Agüimes and president of the Southeast Commonwealth, Óscar Hernández, confirmed that, this year, the fair has exceeded the number of attendees from previous editions, with around 130.000 visitors during the weekend.
Regarding the turnover, this edition of the Southeast Fair has reported sales to artisans and farmers worth close to 400.000 euros, to which we must add the indirect benefit it generates to cafeterias, restaurants and businesses. from the surrounding areas of the Arinaga Crossing, who also benefit from the celebration of this meeting.
The Fair has come to an end today, with one of the most emotional final touches: the presentation of recognitions that the Commonwealth gives every year to three artisans and producers of the region "for their valuable contribution in the fields of agriculture, craftsmanship and Canarian traditions, enhancing the southeast area of Gran Canaria.” On this occasion, Malú Muñoz, Saray Alvarado and Lidibuna Sánchez are the three artisans whom the entity has recognized for their artisan work in jewelry and pastries.

Malú Muñoz turns unused materials into exclusive, unique and timeless pieces. From Ella's Upcycled workshop, located in Agüimes, this designer of ecological jewelry and accessories for ethical fashion uses recovered and recycled materials, mainly plastic bottles, to create handmade pieces inspired above all by nature.
Saray Alvarado, an artisan from Santa Lucía de Tirajana, also works with sustainable jewelry, in this case, to recreate especially Canarian motifs (pintaderas or silhouettes of the islands) with organic material, such as seeds or shells, and with recycled aluminum.
Finally, Lidibuna Sánchez runs the Ina's Cake bakery in Carrizal de Ingenio, where she makes by hand and with the best raw materials a wide variety of desserts and sweets that maintain the authentic flavors of artisanal pastries.
The three artisans were proud and grateful to the Commonwealth for recognizing their work and happy to have participated in this edition of the Southeast Fair, which allows them to make themselves known and sell their products directly to the public.
With these three recognitions and the concerts by Yeray Rodríguez, Conciencia Urbana, Los Gofiones and Kilombo Improvisado, the Feria del Sureste has said goodbye today until November of next year, thus recovering its annual periodicity. The next appointment will be in the open commercial area of Santa Lucía de Tirajana.
