The Department of Equality of this town hall offers a cultural, educational and training program to raise awareness among the population on the occasion of the commemoration of November 25
The City Council of San Bartolomé de Tirajana commemorates the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women (November 25) by developing a program of cultural and social activities aimed at raising awareness among the population about this problem. That same day the City Council will dedicate special lighting to the facades of the Maspalomas Lighthouse, the Municipal Offices and the Maspalomas Cultural Center, starting at 18:30 p.m.
The commemorative program, which has the motto 'In the face of violence against women, act. Telephone 016', will run until next December 1, organized by the Department of Equality headed by the second deputy mayor, Elena Álamo Vega, and coordinated by the delegate councilor of the area Esther Delgado Sánchez.
The programmed activities have an educational aspect, such as the play 'Who lives. Prints of the Desert', by the theater teacher, creator and actress Mónica Aguiar, which will be offered this Wednesday and Thursday to 3rd and 4th ESO students at the Maspalomas Cultural Center, or the 'Broadening Views' Conference, where the themes will be addressed of sexist cyber violence and the construction of identities through the media, intended on November 30 for Baccalaureate, Vocational Training students and students of the Adult Education Center (CEPA) of this municipality.
That same day, in which Lydia Fernández Layos and Yolanda Domínguez will participate as speakers, respectively, will also be open to the general public on Friday, December 1, from nine to eleven in the morning, at the Carmelo Pérez Rodríguez Cultural Center, in The Board. The programming for this social protest commemoration also offers a cultural aspect. This same Wednesday, November 15, the Department of Equality organizes a concert by the Atlantic Duo and the trumpeter José Vicente Araña in the Tony Gallardo Park, at 19.00:18 p.m.; and on Saturday the 20th, the flamenco dance show 'Si duele no es amor', by the Rocío Pozo company, will be offered at the Maspalomas Cultural Center at 30:XNUMX p.m. Free tickets must be reserved through the management https://tureservaonline.es.
The program also includes a training proposal. In this case it will be a presentation on 'Self-care through nutrition and emotional health'. It will be offered on Thursday, November 30, by nutritionist Claudia Rodríguez Hernández and psychologist Naira León Acosta, at the Equality Center, in San Fernando, from 17.00:19.00 p.m. to XNUMX:XNUMX p.m.
