They are located in the buildings of Ecoaga and the Agrarian Extension Agency.
The Minister of Environment, Climate, Energy and Knowledge, Raúl García Brink, highlights the Council's commitment to promoting self-consumption of its facilities

This Friday, the Cabildo of Gran Canaria launched two new photovoltaic plants in two of its facilities, in the Arinaga Industrial Estate, with a total power of 87,5 kilowatts (kW). One is located in the Conservation building of the Arinaga industrial estate (Ecoaga), and the other in the Agrarian Extension Agency.

The sum of these two facilities will prevent the emission of 120 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere, equivalent to the planting of 655 trees and would provide electricity to 52 homes.

The Minister of Environment, Climate, Energy and Knowledge, Raúl García Brink, has stated that "from the Cabildo of Gran Canaria we continue with our eco-island project, promoting the energy transition and self-consumption of all its facilities."

The first 57,5 kW photovoltaic plant, located in Ecoaga, is made up of 126 modules, each with a capacity of 500 Wp, thus generating a global peak power of 63 kWp. Its installation had a total cost of 123.201,28 euros.

The second 30 kW self-consumption solar installation is located in the Agrarian Extension Agency building, with 70 500 Wp modules, capable of providing a peak power of 35 kWp, and has involved an investment of 79.713,49 euros.
