An unconditional love that cannot be explained in words. That is the phrase with which animal lovers identify themselves who, throughout this Saturday morning, November 18, have already stopped by Animundo. 

 

In numbers, almost a thousand people and 141 dogs have enjoyed the opening of this sixth edition of the Pet Fair, which today will keep its doors open until 20.00:19 p.m. and tomorrow, Sunday, November 10.30, will reopen from 20.00:XNUMX a.m. to XNUMX:XNUMX p.m. 

 

The president of the Cabildo of Gran Canaria, Antonio Morales, accompanied by Minerva Alonso, Minister of Economic Development, Industry, Commerce and Crafts of the Cabildo of Gran Canaria; Raúl García, Minister of Environment, Climate, Energy and Knowledge; and the general director of Infecar, Natalia Santana, has inaugurated this edition.

 

 

“Animundo was born six years ago with the firm intention of being a space for raising awareness for citizens and a meeting place for professionals in the sector that we can say has been consolidated over time,” said Antonio Morales who, In addition, he highlighted that "the program hosts presentations, workshops and the traditional adoption gateways, which are, without a doubt, one of the sections that is most successful and through which the largest audience passes and which, in addition, represents a relief for the Bañaderos Island Animal Shelter.” 

 

Morales, also, wanted to call on citizens to "avoid buying animals, urging them to think about adoption because there are many animals that need that show of solidarity and affection from everyone." 

 

Thus, the Pet Fair, promoted by the Cabildo of Gran Canaria and organized by Infecar, aims to facilitate a meeting for professionals, families and animal lovers, who have all the products and services available in the same space. for the responsible care of pets.

 

This sixth edition has almost thirty exhibitors, showing their commercial offering and covering sectors such as food, insurance, education, fashion, veterinary clinics and centers or associations and protectors. 

 

 

Program

 

The actress Clara Lago has been in charge of inaugurating the program of presentations of the Pet Fair with a talk focused on empathy and which has had a wide following. “I am a firm defender of adoption and that is why I am here today, but, and at this moment I always like to give a but, it is totally necessary that we be aware of what we do with this act,” said Lago. 

 

"We cannot adopt on a whim or for a gift, with adoption we acquire a commitment of love for that animal and we have to be aware of everything that it entails in terms of care and that we will be able to maintain it over time," he pointed out. . Clara Lago has also reviewed different anecdotes and experiences from the Ochotumbao Foundation that she has together with Dani Rovira and Dani Solano.

 

 

 

After this, the actress had the honor of opening the first session of the adoption catwalks, which this Saturday is sponsored by El Corte Inglés, telling in first person the stories of these dogs looking for a family.
