Organized by the El Mocán Folkloric and Cultural Association, in collaboration with the Mogán City Council, they also included the celebration of the Night of Los Finaos and a ceretos workshop.
Despite its absence in 2020 due to the pandemic, the Traditions Days in Mogán are in good health, as witnessed by the good reception from the neighbors who have participated in the activities held during this first week of November. . The first, Finaos Night, the day in Plaza Sarmiento and Coto del Casco historico. As is tradition, they enjoyed roasted chestnuts and other delicacies typical of the date, in addition to remembering those who are no longer among us with joy.
This edition has also included a cherry making workshop on November 3 and 4, held at the AFC El Mocán facilities. In total, about 60 ceretos were performed in two days, lasting two hours, by 33 people, most of them representatives of the groups that participate each year in the Pilgrimage of Offering to San Antonio El Chico. Thus, the purpose of this workshop has been to publicize this traditional technique so that, for the next Pilgrimage, the municipality's picturesque and ingenious carts can show off, in addition to the motifs that are designed each year, the ceretos with the products of the land. that are carried up to the Patron Saint.
Finally, on Friday, Pedro José Franco López, recognized in 2020 with the Roque Nublo Folkloric Prize of Gran Canaria for his work and knowledge regarding the historical and cultural heritage of the island, offered the conference 'Sharecropping in the south of Gran Canaria ', a review of this agricultural activity of which he stressed "its leading role must be vindicated both in San Bartolomé de Tirajana and Mogán."
