The mayor of Mogán, Onalia Bueno, already has all the support of CC in Gran Canaria and in the executive led by Fernando Clavijo to be the new leader of the nationalist party on the island, as sources from the organization confirmed to Maspalomas24H this Tuesday. In this way, CC begins to prepare the 2027 local elections to seek to override PP and NC in Gran Canaria.
Last October, CC took the first step by appointing Bueno as CC's executive secretary of Municipal Policy. Bueno's arrival occurs in the process of renewal of the organic internal management positions of the nationalist formation, with the aim of adapting the composition of the management bodies of the nationalist political formation to the demands of the new political stage opened in Canary Islands since the beginning, on June 27, of the XI Legislature in the archipelago, as indicated by the formation itself through a statement.
The mayor of CC in Mogán came to the formation after a journey marked by her stay in the PP and later in Ciuca. CC has opted for its presence at the highest executive level of the party on the island and will have as its first litmus test the European elections of May 2024 which, although they have little impact on CC's strategy, will serve as an exam for the configuration of venues and agendas.
