Plaza del Rosario hosts a new edition of this annual event, which offers crafts, pastries and typical products of these holidays, as well as concerts, children's shows, the Train of Dreams and the Christmas House
This weekend, Plaza del Rosario and its surroundings will host a new edition of the now traditional Agüimes Christmas Market, an annual event that this year brings together around thirty stalls selling crafts, pastries and typical products of these holidays. It is a unique opportunity to enjoy Christmas shopping in a familiar and endearing atmosphere, surrounded by the unique beauty of the historic center and also enjoying the concerts and children's shows scheduled for the entertainment of the whole family.
The Christmas market, open from Friday, will be operational on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 21:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 14:00 p.m. The organization has also arranged two special attractions: the Train of Dreams, which will circulate free and uninterrupted through the streets of the town during all market hours, and the Christmas House, installed in the Orlando Hernández House Museum on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 14:00 p.m. and from 17:00 p.m. to 20:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 14:00 p.m.
The stalls will offer educational toys, handmade dolls and gift accessories, such as bags, jewelry or cosmetic products, among many other artisan items. Pastry lovers will have at their disposal sweets, breads, cakes, rosquettes and shortbreads made by different establishments in the municipality.
Among the scheduled shows, on Saturday starting at 12:00 'Los Musipops' will perform, with their Christmas workshop in which the characters play and compose songs, in turn transmitting such important values as friendship or solidarity. Starting at 18:00 p.m. it will be the turn of Totó el Payaso and his Christmas show titled 'Fun, fun, fun'. At 19:00 p.m. the 'Christmas' concert will be held by the Plátano Swing trio, a group formed by the singer, Patricia Navarro, the guitarist and singer, Josué Kamino, and the double bassist, Paco Perera. Together they will delight with a review of the best Christmas songs, adapted to their characteristic swing sound.
The puppets will entertain the Plaza del Rosario on Sunday the 3rd starting at 12:00, with the show 'Belingo de la Navidad'. That same morning there will be face painting, balloon twisting and bouncy castle workshops.
