This Sunday, December 3, the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council will pay tribute to local soccer player David García Santana, for his extensive sporting career. It will be at the Maspalomas Cultural Center at 18:00 p.m.
Representatives of the clubs in which he has played will participate in the event, organized by the Sports Department headed by councilor Ramón Suarez: CD Maspalomas, UD Vecindario, UD Las Palmas, UD Tamaraceite and CF Arucas.
David García, known on the playing fields by the nickname 'El Kaiser' for his hierarchy and combativeness as a central defender and as a full-back, was born in San Fernando de Maspalomas on February 25, 1982.
He trained in the youth ranks of CD Maspalomas, and from this he went on to join the military at UD Vecindario, where he played two seasons until he ended up at UD Las Palmas, a team in which he served as captain. With the yellow team he played a total of 474 games, becoming the player with the most official games played.
