It represents a call for solidarity from companies and individuals who want to act as godmothers or godfathers of a Christmas gift for minors cared for by the Service for Victims of Gender Violence.
The City Council of San Bartolomé de Tirajana has launched this Monday its Christmas campaign 'Give an illusion', aimed at providing a gift from the Three Wise Men to each and every one of the minors in this municipality who receive care from the Care Service for Victims of Gender Violence.
This solidarity campaign is organized by the Department of Equality directed by the second deputy mayor, Elena Álamo Vega, as a call to altruism and generosity from companies and people on a personal or group basis who want to become godfathers and godmothers of the 90 minors. between 2 and 17 years of age who are economically more vulnerable, who participate in the municipal Service for Attention to Victims of Gender Violence.
These minors will write a letter to the Three Wise Men that will be delivered by their parents to the Customer Service of the Department of Equality, and from this it will be sent via photo to the Whatsapp of the godfathers' and godmothers' mobile phones. To preserve their anonymity and privacy, at no time will contact be established between minors and the sponsors of their Christmas gifts.
The letters from the minors will be delivered to the Customer Service of the Department of Equality until Monday, December 11. The first ten are scheduled to be received this Tuesday. Once assigned to the godmothers and godfathers, they will have a deadline to deliver the gifts that will end on December 27.
In the conditions of participation that have been formulated to the parents of the minors along with the model letter that they must write, it is reported that the gifts will be made as far as possible in a single package and that their economic cost will not exceed 60 euros. so that all boys and girls are on equal terms.
Godfathers and godmothers are asked that the gifts meet the request of the minors, that they be completely new and that they do not have any sexist or warlike character.
