Created in February 2020, the Family Soul Band is made up of 15 professional and amateur musicians directed by pianist Gonzalo Marrero, who is also the arranger of all the musical themes that string together their powerful concerts.
The Family Soul Band, with three trumpets, two saxophones, a trombone, drums, percussion, bass, electric and acoustic guitars, piano, a lead voice and three in a choir, offers itself as a mature formation with a completely clean sound in its live performances. , as they referenced in their participation last July at the Maspalomas Costa Canaria Soul Festival held on San Agustín Beach.
The Family Soul musical project arose driven by the initiative of its drummer Oscar Mata, the artistic director of the group, who appreciated the opportunity to be able to fill the gap that existed in Gran Canaria in terms of soul groups. After overcoming the covid pandemic that completely clouded all social life, the band offered their first concert in August 2022, on the night of the famous fires of the San Lorenzo Festival, in the capital of the Island. Since then they have offered around twenty performances to increasingly loyal and knowledgeable audiences.
