The City Council of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, the Sergio Alonso Foundation, the Canary Islands Foundation for Reforestation (Foresta) and the Acuorum Foundation present the 'Tree Project' this Monday, December 11, at 12:00 p.m., at the CEIP Las Dunas , in San Fernando de Maspalomas.
This school is the first in the municipality and also the first in the Canary Islands where this joint environmental initiative is carried out, the objective of which is to plant trees in order to generate spaces of natural shade and increase green spaces in educational centers.
The event will consist of a visit to the plantation area, where the project will be explained. There, the Acuorum Foundation will provide information on the importance of projects aimed at environmental sustainability; The Sergio Alonso Foundation will do so on the municipal context of the 'Tree Project' and the studies carried out in this regard, and the Foresta Foundation will break down the specific action carried out at the CEIP Las Dunas. Those responsible for Foresta will also explain the development of the environmental workshops that are being carried out at said educational center.
