Almost 550 people from all the neighborhoods of San Bartolomé de Tirajana gathered at a restaurant in Maspalomas to celebrate the traditional Christmas Dinner organized annually by the Mayor's Department. The buses from different parts of the municipality arrived at the facilities at 19:00 p.m., where the mayor of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Marco Aurelio Pérez; the mayor's councilor, Dimas Sarmiento; the first deputy mayor, Alejandro Marichal and other members of the corporation were receiving and greeting each of the attendees.

Before starting the dinner, Dimas Sarmiento addressed the attendees to thank the work done by the council team in organizing the meeting. The councilor also thanked the rest of the councilors for having respected the budget item defined for this department. "Looking ahead to 2024 we will be forced to cut investments and expenses but all the councils have agreed not to reduce the amounts allocated to this area." Sarmiento concluded by congratulating the attendees on the holidays and wishing “that next year we will all see each other here again.” For her part, the second deputy mayor and councilor for the Presidency, Elena Álamo, highlighted the great participation of all attendees “not only in this celebration” but also in the day-to-day activities and workshops organized by the council, “ They are undoubtedly the engine that invites us to move forward.” Finally, the first deputy mayor and Councilor for Urban Planning and Housing, Alejandro Marichal, acknowledged the attendees indicating that “if San Bartolomé de Tirajana has become what it is today, it is undoubtedly thanks to the work of all of you. "Thank you very much for everything you contributed," concluded Marichal.

After dinner, a raffle was held in which more than 40 prizes and gifts donated by different companies and commercial brands in the municipality were awarded; The participants approached the raffle area where they collected Christmas baskets, hotel nights, invitations to Spa and Thalassotherapy, packs of creams and beauty treatments, microwaves, among many other gifts. The music of the Los Parranderos Orchestra was in charge of enlivening the dance that continued the evening until midnight.
