The open commercial area of ​​Avenida de Gáldar, in San Fernando de Maspalomas, centralized this Friday the festive events organized by the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council to stage the lighting of the Christmas lighting that has been installed in all the neighborhoods of the municipality.

 

The events organized by the Departments of Culture and Commerce, directed by Elena Álamo and Araceli Armas, respectively, began at 16:30 p.m. with the aim of contributing to the commercial revitalization of San Fernando and with a markedly playful and Christmas-like character for enjoyment. of the general population, but especially children and families.

 

For the little ones, different areas were arranged along the entire street for the development of recreational activities, such as bouncy castles and spaces for making different games and crafts related to Christmas. A photocall and a 360-degree platform were also installed as an imaginative attraction for those who wanted to immortalize snapshots reminding them of their participation in this social celebration.

Furthermore, throughout the afternoon and well into the night, the festive activity carried out in the street featured the energizing presence of Christmas characters such as Santa Claus and his elves, with the predisposition to cheer up passers-by and make them smile.

 

The Christmas lighting operation was carried out around 19:00 p.m. and was carried out by Mayor Marco Aurelio Pérez, who had words of gratitude for the effort and involvement with which the local company in charge of carrying out the lighting has operated. installation of the luminaire in all neighborhoods of the municipality.

The event also featured the participation of the Umiaya Folkloric Group, which offered a musical performance of an hour and a quarter with around twenty traditional Christmas carols and songs from the most popular Canarian songbook. 

 

The party ended with a concert for young and old by the musical group La Trova, which offered its show “20 years at Christmas.”
