Glovo begins operating in Maspalomas and the rest of the south of Gran Canaria

The on-demand delivery platform Glovo has formally begun at the end of this month of December 2023 to launch its services in Maspalomas after the start-up phase of testing operations since November. In addition, the company has plans to expand its presence to other parts of the economic capital of the Canary Islands in the near future, such as Mogán or San Agustín and El Tablero. The company claims to want to grow in the area hand in hand with the local hospitality industry.

After this strategic launch due to the influence of the tourism sector, Glovo now operates in 22 countries and 700 cities. The platform has a network of more businesses and restaurants, supported by the south of Gran Canaria and a team of active delivery drivers who come from the south of the island with labor protection.

This global expansion aligns with Glovo's "consolidation and sustainability strategy" for the regions in which it occupies a prominent position in the delivery sector. The platform has significantly expanded its presence in Spain, adding 156 new locations in the first half of 2020.

The CEO and founder of Glovo, Oscar Pierre, expressed his enthusiasm for the growth in a statement sent to Maspalomas24H, highlighting that acceptance among companies, delivery personnel and users has exceeded expectations. "We are very confident in the potential of these three new countries, and we believe that our services will also be very well received," he adds.

As Glovo continues to redefine the food delivery landscape, these expansions in southern Gran Canaria mark another milestone in providing convenient and efficient delivery services to a growing audience in Maspalomas, Playa del Inglés and San Fernando.
