It was 1954 when the No-Do of the Franco regime promoted the beauty of the south of Gran Canaria although the Falange bars did not stop putting images of Las Palmas capital, then an emerging city until its final decline began around 1995.
The star of those images are the beaches of Inglés, San Agustín and the dunes of Maspalomas, which at the time was a remote place and quite an adventure given that mass tourism designed by Falangist officials from Las Palmas had not emerged then. In the video the Fataga hamlet appears towards the summit showing the Nublo and Bentayga rocks.
