The Las Palmas Chamber of Commerce chaired by Luis Padrón has launched this January the agenda for companies in the south of Gran Canaria to implement measures to support digitalization and sustainability to maintain tourism leadership. The Sicted in a project of the central government that supervises Tourism of Gran Canaria.
The mayor of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Marco Aurelio Pérez, defends lines to ensure the updating, diversification and constant improvement of the tourist offer of municipalities in line with what the president of the FEMP, María José García, said last December. Pelayo, after ensuring that "it is time to continue betting on the updating, diversification and constant improvement of the tourist offer of our municipalities, which inevitably involve moving towards digitalization and the environmental, social and economic sustainability of destinations such as “the only way to remain competitive and maintain international leadership.”
Along these lines, the Las Palmas Chamber of Commerce has promoted since January the access of companies from the south of the island to Sicted, a badge of commitment to tourism quality and continuous improvement. The first meeting was at the Socio-Cultural Center for the Elderly of San Fernando de Maspalomas.
