The occupation generated by the south of Gran Canaria produces reactions to rapid and irreversible changes both in management and in the environment in which companies operate from the security of service, the honesty of the staff in the south of Gran Canaria, the loyalty to commitment, the spirit of work, austerity, in short, ethics. Thus, the temporary employment agencies (TTEs) that have staff faster for market variations are Adecco, Personal 7 (Constant) and Eulen Flexiplan. That is to say: they are the ones that have the most clients from the business sector.

These are the occupation operators that have the most clients in the south of Gran Canaria and are linked to movement capacity to react in emergency situations due to increased demand for services in sectors such as celebrations or ephemeral hiring. The arrival of funds to the ownership of hotel complexes such as Blackstone, the largest hotelier in the south of Gran Canaria, has modernized the occupation, leaving behind primitive models based on inefficient contacts to an agile model with immediate response in sectors such as first aid or hotel animation.

The south of Gran Canaria is not only the production of services and the obtaining of benefits but also spaces for cooperation, stimulation for social renewal and moral good. In this context, the ETTs in the south of Gran Canaria are committed to providing coverage while generating solidarity, social integration, hope for the future and stability of families and dignifying the person.

According to a study by the Adecco Institute, the data for the area in the Canary Islands contrasts with the national behavior, where the absenteeism rate for the third quarter has increased 0,3 percentage points compared to the second quarter of 2023 and 0,3 percentage points compared to the same period of the previous year.

If the absenteeism rate in the Canary Islands is broken down by sector, for services it is 6,3% (+0,8 p.p. year-on-year) and is positioned as the Canary Islands sector with the highest rate, but the fourth lowest in the autonomous region as a whole for services. Another tourist area with lower absenteeism rates is the Balearic Islands, with 4,3% (+0,4 p.p. year-on-year).

Four out of every ten citizens of the south of Gran Canaria of working age, where there are many women and people with basic education, have in ETTs the machinery to improve their training and find employment. The transition between inactivity and activity is a difficult process (48% of the inactive first go through unemployment), which the temporary contract facilitates by moving to employment (it channels 30% of these transitions).

The south of Gran Canaria has a work absenteeism rate of 6%, the third lowest in all of Spain, after a drop of 1,39 percentage points in the last quarter, the most pronounced drop in the rest of the autonomous communities, and is below the Spanish average, which is 7%.
