Gran Canaria Walking Festival presents an audiovisual journey through the amazing scenarios that featured in the last edition of the event
The asociación Gran Canaria Natural & Active, organizer of Gran Canaria Walking Festival, has released the promotional video for the latest edition of this international hiking festival held from October 19 to 22, 2023 and which brought together about 200 hikers from around twenty countries. Participants were able to explore the fascinating corners of Gran Canaria along four different routes, one per day, in addition to learning about the contrasts of its inland and coastal landscapes.

The video highlights the sensations and experiences experienced by hikers when touring the privileged nature of Gran Canaria; an unforgettable journey that allows you to connect with the most authentic side of the island. This trip has allowed hiking lovers to also get closer to the abundant culture of Gran Canaria, its archaeological and ethnographic heritage.

There was also no shortage of beautiful natural enclaves on the island, as well as moments of rest in the charming rural accommodations: the cozy María Luisa Rural House at the foot of the Montañón Negro natural monument, the natural pools of Agaete or its Huerto de Las Flores, the beautiful Laguna de Valleseco or the Hotel Rural Las Calas, a beautiful 17th century manor house. In these charming places, participants had the opportunity to taste a snack-type lunch of exquisite local cuisine.

This annual hiking festival allows you to cross the various municipalities of Gran Canaria through a network of trails that connect with the most hidden corners of the island. In this way it is possible to witness, for example, the great places that connect Artenara to Moya, the coastline from Sardina del Norte to Agaete, the 'green heart' of Gran Canaria hidden between Firgas and Valleseco, or the exciting landscapes of the Vega of San Mateo.
