Very grateful neighbors: Ecoener places 2 million in Matorral for wind and solar energy

DÁCIL SANTANA Tuesday, November 09, 2021

Camouflaged with a Canarian name, the General Directorate of Energy of the Government of the Canary Islands confirmed this Tuesday to Maspalomas24H that Greenalia has requested a declaration of public utility and environmental impact evaluation of the Orone Wind Farm Hybridization Orone Solar Photovoltaic Installation installation in El Matorral. The wind machinery will be from Enercon, the E-92. To get into the matter, the company is called Tabaiba Solar and affects land owned by Juliano Bonny and the Brito Jiménez family.

What it aims to do is generate energy using wind and solar. The project is subject to the ordinary environmental impact assessment procedure, as provided in Law 21/2013, of December 9, on environmental impact assessment. Ecoener has invested 27 million euros in the area in Llanos de La Aldea Blanca with mills with a power of 2 megawatts (MW) and with installation budgets. The company Bencomia de Risco created a Llanos de la Aldea photovoltaic park for 1.718.623,53 euros. Canutillo de Sabinosa five photovoltaic plants with around 10 million euros. In El Rodeo, with 4,8 MW, 5,6 million euros will be invested.

Another Galician company, Greenalia is promoting its first floating offshore wind installation in Gran Canaria, a 50 megawatt park in front of the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana and very close to the port of Arinaga, for which it has already started processing. As detailed by Greenalia, the facility, located southeast of the Island of Gran Canaria, foresees the construction of four marine wind turbines of 12,5 MW of unit power arranged on floating foundations. This park, called Gofio, located in one of the most resource-rich marine areas in all of Europe, will be connected to the transportation network for evacuation using underwater cables. The entity based in Galicia points out that in this way it ratifies its "decided commitment to renewable energy as a source of green growth"
