The event occurred in the Doctoral area and forced firefighters to make forced entry to extinguish the flames
Second consecutive fire in the Southeast region. After the one registered yesterday in a single-family home in Ingenio, this morning another occurred in Santa Lucía de Tirajana that destroyed the interior of a bar in the Doctoral area, in Vecindario.
The fire occurred at dawn, at approximately 2:20 - 2:30, since the Emergency and Security Coordinating Center of the Government of the Canary Islands (CECOES) raised the alert at 2:50 and activated the necessary resources of the Arinaga fire station to act to extinguish the flames.
The officers arrived at the premises, located at the intersection between Pérez Galdós and Teneguía streets, in a matter of minutes and were forced to force entry due to the security measures that the owners had in place. Once inside, firefighters carried out the necessary extinguishing work.
Once the fire was extinguished, firefighters secured the area by cutting off the supply and ventilating the premises. They also carried out the relevant checks on the homes that were on the upper floor to confirm that they were not affected by the fire.
Inside the premises, elements such as refrigerators, freezers, display cases and other hospitality elements were affected by the flames. Members of the Local Police of Santa Lucía de Tirajana and an ambulance from the Canarian Emergency Service went to the scene of the incident as prevention and support for the firefighters of the Arinaga park.
