News in the south of Gran Canaria with Meeting Point. FTI wants to immediately implement useful solutions in Meeting Point, the parent company that controls the Labranda hotel chain, which in 2024 will see some of its assets change operators. After the voluntary resignation of Angel Rivero last August (although collaborating externally with FTI for a few more months) it has now been the case of Namrata Ahuja and Venancio Lorente who resign from the Board of Directors of Meeting Point hotel management Canaries but maintain their management positions as CFO and CEO of Meeting Point Spain.
Since Juan Vera from Meeting Point in the Canary Islands was liquidated as financial director, the German group has been in continuous change, straightening the course with such important milestones as obtaining the help of SEPI or deregistering part of the unprofitable business. The transfer of the company's management to Las Palmas was a coup to increase the engagement of the headquarters employees who mostly lived between Las Palmas and Telde, abandoning the old Sonneland offices that were not up to par. multinational. But good things have happened: FTI Touristik has managed to stop the attempts of owners of German capital in the south of Gran Canaria to take advantage of alleged non-existent million-dollar debts and deactivate threats of complaints, as Maspalomas24H has learned. The support for FTI Touristik from the Gran Canaria authorities as well as union centers remains as before.
And in the search to reconcile work life with the staff's personal life, Rivero ordered a coup and moved the company to modern offices in Las Palmas where they were close to financial institutions (most of the headquarters They are administrative positions) and since more than 60% of the employees had their home between Las Palmas and Telde. It was a success celebrated by the staff. In the south (Marieta offices) the operations team, guides and people from the south who did not want to go to Las Palmas were left. With the change in commercial management, the new manager was brought in so that he would be based in Gran Canaria and not in Madrid as before since it is in the Canary Islands where the company has its business. Since January 2024, the vacancies on the Boards of Directors have been filled by German executives, Lars Creutzmann and Karl Markgraff himself. Creutzmann is the one who formally replaces Rivero in his position as CEO. Reinaldo Peña Dursunova also left the financial structure of Meeting Point Spain (the DMC) in 2023 and Carlos Pemán Cubillo entered as a non-executive director of said company.
Since 2023, Lars Creutzmann has been CFO of the 47-year-old FTI Group.
