The Minister of Social Policy and Accessibility of the Cabildo of Gran Canaria, Isabel Mena, the general secretary of ASINCA, Laura Dapresa and the president of the Food Bank, Pedro Llorca, accompanied by the Sports Councilor of the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council, Samuel Henriquez , have presented this Wednesday the Gran Canaria 3K Accessible test that will be held this Saturday, November 13, starting at 10:30 in the area around the Maspalomas Lighthouse.
Isabel Mena has stressed that “thanks to these events we promote that citizens are able to see the capabilities that all the people who live on the island of Gran Canaria have and therefore achieve the final objective of achieving a more inclusive island thanks to this event. ”, which is part of the actions that take place during the week of the first edition of the Gran Canaria-Maspalomas Marathon, which seeks to highlight the importance of sports accessibility and value the capabilities that all people have to enjoy of physical activity.
The day will begin at 10:00 with a warm-up by the Mobility Department of the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council. At 10:30 all participants will take the departure from Paseo de Meloneras, at the foot of the Maspalomas Lighthouse, then taking Avenida de las Dunas to walk down Oceanía Street with the Charca de Maspalomas with scenery in the background, to arrive again to the exit point. The arrival at the finish line will be entertained by the Canarian group Salvapantallas.
The event also has a solidarity objective, for each runner ASINCA will donate 5 kilos of products to the Food Bank to distribute among its collaborating organizations and the most vulnerable families on the island of Gran Canaria.
To facilitate the movement of all runners, the transport company GLOBAL will facilitate access to its buses completely free of charge from any point on the island from 8:00 a.m. to 15:00 p.m. on Saturday the 13th, showing the race number. .
