Spar Gran Canaria advances with the modernization of 8 stores and the opening of 3 new points of sale

 

In the last year, the chain has opened 3 new supermarkets and renovated 8 points of sale, thus creating 103 new jobs, only for its stores, and expanding its commercial area with a total of 1.907 additional square meters, corresponding to the three openings. and the major expansion of SPAR Anfi.

 

Among the new points of sale are two establishments located in tourist areas in the south of the island, SPAR Bahía Feliz and SPAR Express Puerto Azul, to which was added the opening of SPAR Taliarte in Telde. Thanks to these inaugurations, the SPAR Gran Canaria group created 45 new direct jobs.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The supermarket chain has also continued to move forward with the reform and modernization of its points of sale SPAR Pi y Margall, SPAR Anfi, SPAR San Juan de Guía, SPAR La Garita, SPAR Siete Palmas, SPAR Pintor Felo Monzón, SPAR Castillo del Romeral and SPAR Tejeda. In addition to offering an updated and modern image, among the improvements made in these stores is the expansion of the assortment, optimization of energy efficiency, new services and sections, extension of hours and the sales room and the staff has also been increased with 46 new hires.

 

 

 

 

Among the latest stores that have been renovated is SPAR Tejeda, which, after a comprehensive renovation, opened a new location on Avenida de los Almendreros in Tejeda, new distribution and a broader assortment in the Bakery section. Another of the improvements made was carried out at SPAR Pintor Felo Monzón, with a completely renewed image and a more spacious and comfortable checkout and entrance line. Likewise, SPAR Siete Palmas launched a new prepared food area prepared by La Coccotte catering.

 

In the openings and renovations of these stores, special care has been taken to ensure energy efficiency with different measures such as the installation of new LED lighting, the installation of state-of-the-art closed vertical refrigerators and refrigerators, renovations of central cold systems, which optimize energy consumption. , and the change to electronic labels, which encourage paper savings. Some actions that are part of the SPAR Gran Canaria group's commitment to sustainability and reducing the carbon footprint, developing stores that are more efficient and respectful of their environment. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Canarian supermarket chain has additionally created 12 new jobs in its stores thanks to its Butcher School. An innovative project that was born with the objectives of training unemployed people as specialized butchery personnel and establishing new employment opportunities in a highly in-demand trade due to the shortage of qualified professionals. The SPAR Gran Canaria group will continue this project, anticipating that the third edition will begin during the first quarter of this year.
