San Bartolomé de Tirajana congratulates its athletes

The mayor of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Marco Aurelio Pérez Sánchez, concluded this Thursday the intense campaign of individual receptions that he has been offering since last December to more than a hundred outstanding athletes from this municipality who competed with outstanding success. at a national and international level during the past year 2023.

 

At these receptions, where the Sports Councilor Ramón Suárez Ojeda also participated, the mayor was able to talk with each athlete, inquiring about their modalities and the details of the successes they have achieved in the competitions in which they have participated. Furthermore, the congratulations to these athletes, mostly champions, runners-up or third-placed in their respective disciplines, has brought with it, in the words of the mayor himself, “a well-deserved personal and collective gratitude - on behalf of the City Council and the entire municipality - for their effort and contribution to its social and sporting promotion.”

 

These meetings of the athletes of San Bartolomé de Tirajana with their mayor have been organized directly by the Department of Sports to provide explicit recognition to the hundreds of athletes of different sports modalities and categories who during the year 2023 have competed with a high level of preparation and demand to achieve position among the best in their specialty in national and international competitions.

 

Thus, athletes linked to the different modalities of martial arts and combat sports stand out, such as the kumite karatekas of the Tablero Fudoshin Club Indira Zúñiga and Alejandro Badra; the Jiu Jitsu, No-Gi and Full Contact fighters of the Werdum Maspalomas Club, José Fernández, Ancor Navarro, Gabriel Roggendorf, Evan Riverno, Iván Alexis Rodríguez, Aduanich Jeremías Bolaños, Daniel Cabrera, Unai Bolaños and Gabriele Caso; the weightlifters from Club Ubunto de Maspalomas, Mona Sjolie and Aitana Pérez; Brazilian jiu-jitsuka Álvaro Salas; grappling fighter Victoria Isidro Lohbeck; the kickboxer Jamal Hamadi and the judokas of the Bushican Club, Itaisha  Martel, Pablo Cedrés, Alejandra Rodríguez, Leonel Rodríguez and Axiel Ramírez. 

 

 

 

 

There are also very young award-winning athletes in rhythmic gymnastics and dance, such as the gymnasts who are members of the junior, children's and senior rhythmic teams and ensembles of the Arenas Corza's Maspalomas Club; the gymnasts from the alevín, youth and junior rhythmic groups of the Daisan Gran Canaria Club; the individual gymnasts of that same club Aldara Suárez and Náyade Pérez, loaned to the clubs Mabel de Valencia and Batistana de Tenerife to compete in the First Division, and the gymnasts Karla Díaz, Inka Wilke and Naroa Oyarzabal, as successful competitors in the Second Division, and the 47 members of the Carmen Cabrera Ballet who won the 2023 World Dance Championship.

 

At these receptions, where each athlete was given an institutional badge representative of the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, swimmer Enrique Mata was also congratulated; natural fitness bodybuilders Valeria Verazzo and Jessica Rodríguez; windsurfer Liam Dunkerbeck; the big-air kitsurfer José Domingo Déniz; the tennis player Benjamin Andrada María Sofian; the master cyclist Javier Carmelo Ramos Domínguez; and the enduro and trail motorcyclists, Santiago Hernández Rivero and Esteban García Rodríguez, respectively.

 

“All these athletes are an example of the sporting spirit that we want to instill in the municipality. It is only fair that we recognize their effort, their dedication, their commitment and their well-deserved achievements, because in some way they are creating a school and contributing with their values ​​to the social and sporting promotion of San Bartolomé de Tirajana,” states Sports Councilor Ramón Suárez. .
