The 24 images of the exhibition 'Illusion Woman', where women and nature merge, can be viewed until February 5

Photographer Marcial Rivero Hierro exhibits 'Illusion Woman' at the Casa de Saturninita Art Center, in San Fernando de Maspalomas, from this Thursday until next February 5. The exhibition can be viewed in the morning, from 9.00:14.00 a.m. to XNUMX:XNUMX p.m.

 

This exhibition supported by the Department of Culture of the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council is made up of a selection of 24 50x40 snapshots that Marcial Rivero (San Fernando de Maspalomas, June 14, 1969) has obtained working with 5 female models in natural spaces of Japan, Tibet, Peru, Colombia, Indonesia and the Philippines, and in its own settings as close as the Maspalomas Lighthouse, Las Dunas or Los Azulejos de Veneguera.

The exhibition opened this Thursday, with the intervention of the second deputy mayor and head of the municipal area of ​​Education and Culture, Elena Álamo Vega, who highlighted “the great and brilliant” exhibition career of the photographer in this municipality. In fact, this is the fifth exhibition that Marcial Rivero has offered - since February 2006 - in public art centers in San Bartolomé de Tirajana, showing images captured on his travels through Europe, Mongolia, India, Sri Lanka, Japan, Vietnam, Malaysia , Tibet, Peru, Colombia, Indonesia (islands of Sumatra, Bali, Borneo and Siberut), Myanmar, Singapore, Morocco, Egypt, Jordan, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Chjina, Russia and the Philippines.

 

“For the City Council of San Bartolomé de Tirajana it is a satisfaction to be able to offer you this room, which is your home, to exhibit your work, which we know is a work that you like to share with the new generations of the municipality since you decided to put a backpack on. shoulder and travel the world with your camera,” Elena Álamo told the artist, of whom she highlighted “the feminine vision and multiculturalism that her works champion in a perfect symbiosis of humanity and nature,” she stated.

Marcial Rivero Hierro highlighted that his exhibition “has nature, places, different environments, light, color, fantasy, illusion and, most importantly, predisposition and value on the part of the women who have participated in the photos merging with the landscape,” he said. . That is why the exhibition is conceived as “a tribute to women,” she stated. 

 

The artist also said that the photos that make up the exhibition correspond to different stages and trips, and that they were taken with three different cameras and with different styles. He already has in mind to prepare an 'Illusion Woman II' or even an 'Illusion Man'.

 

Rivero Hierro conceives photography “as a visual commitment to myself and what I am seeing. These moments are moments of reality that I can understand as illusions and fantasies in a mirror. It is what I am most passionate about and what amuses me,” he confesses.
