The Sabor a España candy store chain has started operations in the south of Gran Canaria for the sale of nougat, guirlaches and carameladas at Paseo del Faro, 18, in Maspalomas. "We are a brand of traditional Spanish products of the highest quality whose specialty is nougat, we try to bring the tradition of our products to an audience that had already forgotten it," Francisco Ramírez's company tells Maspalomas24H.
The company has highlighted the facilities given by the City Council for them to invest in the area and provide that point of nostalgia to tourists who can find products that at the time, due to other trips to the Peninsula, "come to remind their neighbors that Spain's culinary tradition is much healthier, more complete and more appetizing than prefabricated food. It is the 14th store in all of Spain.
The family business created by Francisco Ramírez began at popular fairs selling in wooden booths with a canvas roof, "I took my first steps in a booth and I have slept under a counter since the first day I was born, all this is not surprising in my family, since it is the lifestyle we have known. I am the fifth generation of the lifelong nougat maker," says the founder of the group.
In its growth strategy "we look for the best corners of each of the best areas of Spain to offer typical products from our country and that is why we have arrived at Maspalomas, where we are sure that many tourists and Canary Islanders will appreciate the quality and it is an opportunity as a travel gift, encouraging spending at the destination".
