San Silvestre distributes 83.366 euros in solidarity to its five beneficiary NGOs

 

An endearing and emotional act, as a family, that has fulfilled what is the origin and DNA of the San Silvestre LPGC race, committed to social projects in the Canary Islands and care for the most vulnerable. The 8.151 runners of the San Silvestre LPGC and their contribution have materialized today in the solidarity checks with which the NGOs will make the necessary push for their projects possible.

 

On the part of Children's Villages, the solidarity of the participants will give life to comprehensive care projects for young mothers, while Apaelp will make the most of this contribution to hold an art workshop with its users.

 

CEAR will transform the solidarity of the San Silvestre LPGC into an integration program for refugees and migrants in need of international protection, temporary protection and/or at risk of social exclusion; Doctors of the World will use this proceeds for health projects, and the association of Children with Cancer Pequeno Valiente will use this solidarity support for projects to support 'brave families'.

 

The organizer of the event, representing Top Time Eventos, Pablo González Cardona, has highlighted the importance of this event, which fully donates the proceeds from the runners, thanking “the new additions in this edition ” in the collaborators and sponsors, who make it possible for this collection to go in its entirety to this solidarity objective. “We are filled with pride with this project, because in this edition we set many challenges for ourselves, in a more supportive and also more sustainable commitment that has completely marked the entire San Silvestre LPGC.” He has declared that for Top Time Eventos and the team it is “a joy” to serve “as a common thread of solidarity” and also “an important incentive to continue improving with more enthusiasm than ever” in the next editions.

 

 

On behalf of Trican, José Rodríguez, has thanked for “one more year making this event possible” that today with the delivery of checks “fills us with joy” and that for the club “is a great happiness” and means closing the best way “a great edition”.

 

The Sports Councilor of the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria City Council, Carla Campoamor, has stressed that this race unites an entire city in a common goal, by “running and creating healthy living habits through sport.” The San Silvestre LPGC is “a city, it is an island, it is a party and it is solidarity” and “we saw that in the streets of the capital”, in one of the “most important” races and that “is an example of what we want for Las Palmas de Gran Canaria”.

 

 

The Sports Councilor of the Cabildo of Gran Canaria, Aridany Romero, has highlighted that with the delivery of these solidarity checks “the daily effort of all those souls who give a little of themselves to help vulnerable people is returned to the organizations.” ”. He thanked the organization, the NGOs, and the public and private collaborators, who do their bit "for noble and just causes", thanks to the trio of "sport, health and solidarity that this project represents." 

 

The San Silvestre LPGC, organized by Top Time Events with the collaboration of the Trican Club, has been promoted by the City Council of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, the Municipal Institute of Sports, the Cabildo of Gran Canaria, the insular Institute of Sports with the program Gran Canaria European Island of Sports, the Government of the Canary Islands, the Canary Islands and Canary Islands Avanza con Europa brand, and the collaboration of CajaSiete, MacroFit, HPS, Physiorelax, Gofio La Piña, Peñascal, and Pascual.
