Members of the Arinaga fire station had to act this Tuesday morning in a garage in Arinaga after a bus caught fire. The proximity of the fire brigade base (less than a kilometer from the scene) was key to preventing the incident from being more serious.
The alarm was raised when a bus began to burn inside the garage of Grupo 1844, located on Mimosas Street in the Arinaga Industrial Park. Upon arrival, the troops evacuated the premises before proceeding to extinguish the fire in the vehicle's engine.
Once the fire was extinguished, the troops proceeded to ventilate the bus and the ship, which was not affected by the fire but smoke accumulated inside. The officers stated that the potential of the fire could have been greater if it had not been for the speed of their action and the fact that the fire station and the garage are located in the same industrial estate.
