Traveling storyteller to encourage children's reading in San Bartolomé de Tirajana

Starting this Wednesday, the City Council of San Bartolomé de Tirajana will offer a storyteller to encourage reading and writing for children between 5 and 10 years old that will take place on an itinerant basis through all the cultural centers of the municipality.

The storyteller, 'In the jungle, between branches and colors', promoted by the Library service of the Department of Culture directed by the second deputy mayor, Elena Álamo Vega, and coordinated by the councilor Esther Delgado, is structured by three stories children from the bibliographic collection of the Municipal Library of Maspalomas, specifically 'The lion who did not know how to write', by Martin Baltscheit, 'Giraffes cannot dance', by Giles Andreae, and 'There is a tiger in the garden', by Lizzi Stewart.

The activity, which will be taught by philologist Elisenda Romano, will begin at the Carmelo Pérez Rodríguez Cultural Center, in El Tablero, this Wednesday at 17.00:22 p.m. Then it will take place at the same time in Aldea Blanca (the 23nd), in San Fernando de Maspalomas (the 25rd), Juan Grande (the 26th), Tunte (the 1th) and El Pajar, on Thursday, February 19 at 30:XNUMX p.m.: XNUMX hours.

Although primarily intended to encourage reading among the little ones, the storytelling session also promotes civility and education in values ​​in each of its three stories. That of the lion emphasizes the capacity for personal and collective improvement through love; that of the giraffes demands the inclusion of people with reduced mobility, and that of the tiger in the garden insists on the transformative power of humor and imagination.
