In recent months, Maspalomas has experienced significant economic growth, driven by tourism and construction. This has led to an increase in investments in the municipality. These investments are intended to improve the municipality's infrastructure and services, which will attract more visitors and create new jobs.

According to data from the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council, the municipality has more than 20.000 workers in the tourism sector neighboring the town, that is, without counting people who come from outside. This represents 30% of the municipality's active population.
