The PP lawyer for the so-called Bárcenas computer case, among others, Jesús Santos, has been selected by the family of Santiago Santana Cazorla, self-exiled in Morocco, to attack Lopesan's interests in Anfi del Mar, as reported by this week the Spanish press. Jesús Santos was a defender of the PP in the trial on the Gürtel plot in Boadilla del Monte (Madrid), and defended the PP against the complaint that it profited from holding electoral events allegedly paid for by the criminal network, since "he did not even know nor did he consent," he maintained, to those events. If they existed, he said in court, "they would be acts or services carried out in secret or outside the party" and that would only have benefited the municipal officials who sit on the bench, not the political party. It is not known if the defense of Lopesan's interests will be in the hands of another blackleg of the judicial system: José Antonio Choclán.

Jesús Santos was a prosecutor at the National Court, which he joined in 1989, replacing prosecutor Carmen Tagle, who was murdered by ETA. Since then he directed the Spanish anti-terrorist criminal policy and participated in a large number of investigations and trials of terrorism, both national and international, he was the prosecutor of the famous 'Lasa-Zabala case' related to the kidnapping, torture and murder of two alleged terrorists of ETA, for which various political leaders and state security forces were convicted.

He has been distinguished as a Knight of the Legion of Honor of the French Republic, for his outstanding role in collaborating with France in the fight against ETA and has been part of the United Nations Unit for the investigation of delinquency and organized crime. The last position he held was as liaison magistrate of Spain to the Republic of Italy for cooperation between both countries in the fight against organized crime and terrorism. In 2012 he left the National Court to join Baker & Mckenzie as managing partner of the criminal litigation area.

Jesús acted as Chief Prosecutor from February 6 to May 17, 2006 and during this period in the Prosecutor's Office he was Coordinator of International Judicial Assistance, acquiring relevant experience in the processing of Extradition Procedures and European Arrest Warrants. In 2003 he was appointed Coordinator of Jihadist Terrorism. In his career as a Prosecutor, he has participated in numerous processes for socioeconomic crimes such as the “CISSA” cases, Compañía Internacional de Seguros, Banco de Santander (assignments of credit), several tax frauds in the VAT carousel, the “Air Madrid” case related to alleged airline fraud or fuel fraud cases related to hydrocarbon excise tax and VAT.
