Meeting Point Hotels Spain expects another season of success

The Meeting Point Spain agency complements digital direct sales

Canary Islands and Mallorca by 2024 in the tour operator sector

With an eye on next summer, the FTI GROUP is presented at the start of Fitur 2024 in Madrid. After the highly satisfactory results of recent months and weeks, Meeting Point Hotels Spain is preparing for another successful season with newly renovated hotels. The incoming agency Meeting Point Spain is targeting additional target groups with the complete digitalization of its tour program and can therefore also expect a top summer in 2024. The group is expanding its tour operator program and is focusing mainly in the Canary Islands, Mallorca and the southern coast of the peninsula.

Meeting Point Hotels is prepared for a strong summer

The hotel division of FTI GROUP is pleased with a fantastic winter 2023/24 with optimal demand and occupancy in all destinations, but especially in the more than 20 hotels available to the hotel chain. The team celebrated the excellent start to the year, as well as the successes of the previous season, with employees and partners at a great event held at the Labranda Suites Costa Adeje in Tenerife in December. The four-star hotel was renovated at the same time as the Labranda Costa Mogán, in Gran Canaria, with a high level of investment in 2022, and has since been one of the best in the portfolio. A similar course has now been set in 2023 in Fuerteventura for the Club Caleta Dorada in Caleta de Fuste and the Labranda Golden Beach on the Costa Calma: Both resorts have been renovated and are already ready for a strong summer in 2024. "We remain in shape coherent our strategy, investing in our portfolio and continuously improving in terms of quality. We are well on track with all our plans and projects and our commitment at all levels is also being valued by our guests," says Sabine Dorn, CEO Hotels at the FTI GROUP. The Meeting Point Hotels Spain segment is currently led by interim COO and CEO Humberto Moreno. Ángel Rivero, who has been CEO of the Group's Spanish accommodations since 2020 and who has led the Group through the challenges of the pandemic excellently, left the role for personal reasons on August 31, 2023 and has since continued providing excellent support to the team in project work with his professional experience in the industry and market as an external consultant.

New excursion and extensive program from Meeting Point Spain, which can now be booked online

The incoming agency Meeting Point Spain begins the new high season with a pleasant increase in advance reservations. Its CEO, Venancio Lorente, explains that the portfolio of excursions bookable online throughout the Canary Islands should provide an additional stimulus: "The service concept is firmly anchored in Meeting Point. With the booking website, our guests can now filter excursions according to your preferences at any time and book them from the comfort of your sun lounger or before departure," continues Lorente. New to the excursion program is the "Luxury Heritage" day tour in Gran Canaria, where small groups immerse themselves in the history and nature of the third largest island in the Canary Islands.

Expansion of the tour operator portfolio under the new management of Sabine Prähauser

Booking figures for the Balearic Islands, the Canary Islands and the peninsular coast suggest a promising high season: "Spain is and continues to be one of the most popular destinations for all FTI travelers, with its wide variety of beach holiday options, culture and nature. The demand for advance bookings is currently at a similar level to last year and we expect an additional boost with our advance booking measures," summarizes the Strategic Destination Officer Spain and Portugal, Sabine Prähauser, responsible for tourism operations of the Group in the Iberian Peninsula with the Canary Islands since the beginning of the new year. "Spain is a holiday destination for everyone, which is why we have once again strengthened our portfolio for 2024. In Mallorca, we have added more hotels in Playa de Palma so that distances to the airport and the fashionable capital, Palma, are short for day trips. Family-friendly and adults-only hotels have been added to the 'Big Four' Canary Islands, and an exceptional adults-only resort has been added to our portfolio on the southern coast of the Peninsula. This sets the course for another year increase in sales and number of guests". To strengthen travel agencies, the tour operator has two roadshows planned in Germany in 2024: at the beginning of February, product managers will report on developments in the Peninsula, the Balearic Islands and Portugal. In the second half of the year, a tour of the main German cities is planned for the Canary Islands; The focus will be on even greater combination options with the FTI 360 travel planning tool, which makes it even easier for travel agencies to combine multiple Canary Islands into one holiday for their clients.
