The Sports Councilor of the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council, Ramón Suárez Ojeda, wishes good spirits and good luck to the 900 athletes who have registered to participate in the VII Pilancones Tunte Trail that is being held this Saturday, January 20.
The details of this attractive mountain race, which begins at 8.30:XNUMX a.m. in the Plaza de Santiago de Tunte, were presented this Thursday at the El Tablero Shopping Center by its organizers, the Gallotia Sports Club, who received congratulations and thanks. of the Sports Councilor. “We want to recognize and thank you for your great work. For the City Council it is a pride to be able to continue collaborating and supporting this event,” he stated.
As in previous editions, the Pilancones Tunte Trail will take place with three distances: the mini, 9 kilometers; the average, 25 kilometers; and the 'challenge', 34 kilometres, which this year awards cash prizes of 600 to 100 euros for the top five finishers.
Among the registered athletes, prestigious runners such as Andreu Simon, Tatiana Mujica, Esteban García, Holly Page (winner of the 25 kilometers in 2023), Anders Kjaerevik (winner of last year's challenge), Callum Smith, Gabriel have confirmed their participation. Rueda, Matías Andrada, Florencia Milanesi and Yoel de Paz Baeza, among others.
At the presentation event, Councilor Ramón Suárez recalled the popular origin of this race “which is enjoyed as a challenge for endurance and which runs along perfectly marked trails and through incomparable landscapes. It is a reality that the Pilancones is an emblematic race that has become an international benchmark for mountain competitions for top-level athletes,” he said.
