Before more than 20 consuls located in Gran Canaria, Luis Padrón presented the activities planned by the Chamber for this year in terms of internationalization. In this sense, Luis Padrón stated, “it is essential that the consuls have all the information about our international actions, because they are the ones who will transfer it to the countries they represent. In turn, they will send us the business opportunities that exist in their countries, so that we can disseminate them among our companies.”
The president of the Chamber, who explained that this chamber plan aims to consolidate the internationalization of companies in Gran Canaria and the destination, in addition to promoting the connectivity of the Island, explained the 12 trade missions planned for this year.
Along these lines, Padrón also reported on visits to international fairs that are planned in the sectors of the food industry, digital technology, energy sector, navigation, aerospace industry, animation, audiovisual, fashion, geospatial industry, real estate and digitalization.
The meeting also referred to the major international events that the Chamber has organized, such as the General Assembly of Island Chambers of the European Union, INSULEUR, and the Meeting of Chambers of Commerce of Spain and West Africa. “The intention of the Chamber is to consolidate the celebration of important international events and economic conferences on our island, because it would be beneficial for everyone, in line with our work to promote our Island and our companies,” reiterated the president of the Chamber.
At the same time, Padrón indicated that “the internationalization of our companies is one of our priority lines of action, in which we have been working for some time through various programs from our Internationalization department, a technical department, with extensive professional experience, and extensive knowledge of international markets. In addition, we want to highlight that the Chamber issues certificates of origin of merchandise, import notebooks, legalizations of commercial documents, etc.”
In this context, he highlighted that “the Chamber is the only institution that does not need an introduction when it goes abroad, without having to explain who we are and who we represent. Furthermore, it is of utmost importance to belong to a network of chambers of commerce, the largest economic and business network in the world.”
