This gum from our land, which was made from the milk of the sweet tabaiba, was called “TABAY”. The sap of the tabaiba was placed in large cauldrons, which when heated turned into a delicious paste.

After making the dough, it had to be cut to make the gum squares, and to do this, they used the old 'Singer' sewing machines, to which a blade was attached and thus, the cuts were made to make the small portions. of chewing gum ready for sale.

The first factory was created in Las Palmas in October 1946. Two years later, in 1948, it was sold to a Catalan company.
