The talent of the south of Gran Canaria is not only rewarded for the excellence of its human resources but also for the configuration of urban pieces that project a good image. Every day we see the headquarters building of the Seaside Collection Hotels chain in Playa del Inglés but we always wonder what scenario the company and architects of the renovation envisioned. The property has been developed to fit in an area of future centrality perfectly because the site has a predominantly south orientation with its main façade coinciding with the GC-500, with high traffic density, which in the near future is intended to be transformed into a urban and pedestrian walk.
Architect Alejandra Vera explains the axes of this work carried out in 2021, anticipating the need for ventilated spaces and designed by PK35 Arquitectos. The work was done by Constructora San José and the structural calculation was by HUCA Arquitectura SLP while the engineering was the responsibility of CABALE Ingenieros from Nayra Alemán Francés and the interior design by Fedora Bachetta, from the Seaside chain. Landscaping was the work of Luis Vallejo
and the graphic art of Simón García.
The façade solution unifies the whole and is the product of that attitude of defending the environment. The most exposed surfaces, coinciding with the work areas, are resolved by openwork walls or architectural concrete lattices that reduce heat gain while filtering the incidence of the sun and favoring natural ventilation. In this way we manage to reduce the economic and environmental impacts associated with excessive energy consumption.
